Today’s Weather: Mostly clear and windy

On Monday morning, periods of sunshine will alternate with periods of cloudiness, and from afternoon onwards the weather will become mostly clear. Winds will be mainly north-easterly, moderate to strong, up to 5 Beaufort, initially variable in the west, later turning south-westerly to westerly, light to moderate, up to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough to rough. Temperatures will rise to 18 C in the interior, on the south and east coasts, 19 C on the remaining coasts and 8 C in the higher mountains.

On Monday night, the weather will be mostly clear with occasional increased clouds in the west. Winds will be mainly north-westerly to north-easterly, locally south-easterly, light to moderate, up to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little rough. Temperatures will drop to 5 C in the interior, 9 C on the west coast, 8 C on the remaining coasts and around 1 C in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form.

On Tuesday, the weather will initially be mostly clear, expected to become mostly cloudy by midday. On Wednesday, the weather will be cloudy, with periodic showers and isolated thunderstorms, starting in the early hours from the west and progressively moving to the rest of the island. On Thursday, the weather will remain unsettled, with showers and local thunderstorms. Storms on Wednesday and Thursday, are expected to be prolonged or intense at times, and snow is expected in the higher mountains.

Temperatures will rise slightly on Tuesday drop again until Thursday, to fluctuate near or slightly below the average for the season.
