Microsoft helps development of local start-ups

Local start-ups are getting the opportunity to develop their original ideas through mentoring and training by participating in the second cycle of the Microsoft programme.

Microsoft for start-ups Cyprus has launched the second cycle of its programme which officially started on November 15, 2022.

The programme aims to support start-ups from all over Cyprus through a specialised training package, so that they are able to dynamically enter the global market and achieve their goals. It will also help these new businesses to accelerate their growth through a tailored package combining training, coaching and mentoring, elements which are essential in early stages. Entrepreneurs will also be familiarised with basic business concepts and modern tools.

The prgoramme follows the successful first cycle of the Microsoft for start-ups programme, where ten Cypriot start-ups were able to further develop their idea through training and mentoring.

During the programme, start-up founders will have the opportunity to work closely with senior and experienced executives of innovation partners, who are participating in the programme. These include CNP Cyprus, Cyta, ExxonMobil, EY, Gnomi, GrantXpert Consulting, Hellenic Bank, IMH, Logicom, Microsoft, NetU and NewCyTech. A strong supporter of the whole project is the CIBE, while GVI Cyprus will participate as a business development partner.

All start-ups will be assigned mentors and will have the opportunity to work closely together to further develop their business idea and successfully introduce their new product and/or service to the market once the programme is completed.

The programme is taking place from February 1 to 30 April 2023, followed by a graduation ceremony to be held in May 2023. All activities will take place at European University Cyprus.

The Microsoft for Start-ups programme is implemented by European University Cyprus in close cooperation with GrantXpert Consulting Ltd.

More information about the programme can be found on the European University Cyprus website.
