Alternative rockers take the stage to celebrate the untapped beauty of life

One of Cyprus’ most enduring bands, The smallest Creature, is gearing up for a series of releases this year, and joining them on stage this Friday is Greece’s Dzingovic band.

The Smallest Creature is set to take the stage at Larnaca’s Savino Live on Friday for a night filled with alternative rock grit and fuzz-soaked boundlessness. The band will not only be celebrating their latest release, the anthemic rock song ‘What Color Is the Rain’, but also unveiling a constellation of highly anticipated new and unreleased songs, long awaited since their 2020 album Magic Beans.

With their fiercely independent spirit and unfaltering endurance, The smallest Creature’s concert at Savino marks more than a decade of contributing to the island’s original music scene, playing a vital role in Larnaca’s vibrant rock community.

The smallest Creature’s new collection of material sees the band veer into a provocatively explorative pop sense in a flippant response to humanity’s entanglement with wars, aggression and disillusionment. Released earlier this month, ‘What Color Is the Rain’ leads a rousing call against the world’s inherent chaos, serving as a defiant ode to the undiscovered paradise in the moments of life yet lived, songs yet sung and days yet dawned. On stage, the band will showcase their new material alongside songs from their internationally acclaimed albums Million (2016) and Magic Beans (2020).

The Larnaca-based band’s roots lie in the alternative rock scenes of the 1990s and jam-filled afterparties of Boston and NYC. Grunge-infused introspective songs once played during those early roots later made their way into The smallest Creature’s albums, both of which garnered outstanding praise and accolades from the alternative and hard rock media worldwide. Drawing from a broad palette of influences, the band crafts a sonic spectrum of sauntering riffs and melancholic moods. Their lyrics offer a lens into the human condition and the helical relationships between us, painting vivid imagery that guides listeners through their own journeys.
