Nicosia man arrested with over 1.5kg cannabis, cocaine

Police on Thursday arrested a 32-year-old Nicosia resident for possession of cannabis and cocaine.

According to police, officers seized the drugs during a vehicle check followed by a search of the suspect’s residence.

The man was initially stopped while driving in Nicosia, and police found 30g of cannabis, 10g of cocaine and a precision scale, which were seized.

A search followed at the 32-year-old’s house which uncovered a further 1.3kg of cannabis, 55g cocaine, €3,015 and a number of new mobile phones, all of which were confiscated.

The 32-year-old who was arrested and taken into custody is expected to appear before court on Friday.
