Bar Review: Metropole Retro Music Club, Limassol

By Anna Hassapi

Metropole Retro Music Club has established itself as the top place in Limassol for 70s, 80s and 90s hits. Situated in the old town of Limassol, Metropole is popular with all age groups and often hosts special events and parties. This is a great place to let your hair down and dance the night away!

Its large central dancefloor is usually packed with people showing off their moves. The fact that it has a dancefloor – a feature associated more with the disco than with your typical club – also sets this place apart. There are places that ‘inspire’ you to let your hair down and just have fun – the type of fun that some of us have ever so rarely these days; Metropole Retro is just that kind of place: I associate this club with giggly nights on the dancefloor with friends, and moving about to the sound of cheesy, but fantastic songs.

The venue is very spacious, spreading over two floors, with three large bars around the dancefloor, and island bars and couches lined across them. If you’d like to sit at one of the couches, then make sure you make a reservation!

As for the crowd, diversity is key here as you will come across people from all sorts of backgrounds and age groups but somehow everyone blends in, from the trendy crowd to your mum’s friends! Metropole Retro is also ideal for hen and bachelor parties.
This club is definitely recommended for anyone seeking some good times with friends, dancing to retro music. In general the drinks here are cheaper than in other clubs in Limassol.
