Becoming the best you can

By Maria Gregoriou

WE ALL know that relationships are tough and need a lot of work but sometimes we come to dead ends, and don’t know where to turn or what to do to keep them on track. If you are at one of those crossroads then consultant psychiatrist, healer, peace-builder and author Dr Brenda Davies host a series of workshops as of Saturday to help deal with such issues.

The workshops are under the collective title Healing Relationships with Love and Peace. These entail healing the relationship we have with ourselves and our past, with others, with the planet and with the higher power that some of us refer to as God.

Davies will offer four different workshops in all major towns. The first workshop is a three-hour session entitled Questions and Answers about Parenting and invites all parents, new or with years of experience to join her and the Larnaca Parent Network in Larnaca on Saturday. Being a parent may be one of the best jobs in the world but if you are a parent, you will know that it is not easy. The first challenge all parents face is how to raise their children to have good values, ethics and high integrity, and the experience of parenting does not stop there. Children turn into teenagers and that is when parents may need that extra bit of advice. They may be experiencing sibling rivalries, peer pressure, substance abuse or depression. You may have questions on all or any of these issues, or you may just want to be informed in case your child needs your help in the future, and Davies can provide guidance and answers.

The next workshop is Healing Our Relationships, on Sunday in Paphos and next Saturday in Nicosia. Davies will lead the workshop, where you can learn how to heal relationships on every level and find the love and peace needed to do so. By healing our relationships we create a healthier and happier future for ourselves and the people around us. This is a full day event.

On Monday in Limassol and in Nicosia on Tuesday, treat yourself to a day of healing with the workshop Understanding the Language of our Symptoms. The workshop refers to physical, emotional and psychological symptoms we sometimes feel. These symptoms are signs telling us that some parts of our lives need attention. Davies will help participants understand how to pinpoint areas where our energy is stuck. Getting the energy flowing again is the way to start the healing process. Davies asks those who will be coming along to share their issues with the group, as individual time may not be given.

The last workshop is Questions of Spirituality, Health and Freedom from Fear in Famagusta next Friday. The three-hour session is the time to ask questions on any issues you may feel are weighing you down, emotional, physical, spiritual or issues of daily or family life.
