EDA Chief Executive to pay two-day visit to Cyprus

European Defence Agency Chief Executive Jorge Domecq will from Wednesday pay a two-day official visit to Cyprus.

During the visit an agreement of Joint Procurement of Satellite Communications will be signed, aiming to provide commercial-type satellite communications (fixed and mobile), and related services for everyday use, but also for business.

The agreement provides for the creation of one or more framework agreements on behalf of the Contracting States, to promote ease of access to these services and improve efficiency, providing a simple and cost effective solution in the field of satellite communications.

One of the main issues on the agenda of the meeting between the EDA Chief Executive and the Minister of Defence is a European conference on Maritime Security Strategy, which will be held in November in Cyprus and funded by EDA.
