Entertainment What's On

It’s all happening at the park

By Maria Gregoriou

At Acropolis Park tomorrow there will be lots for the kids to do and the chance to support recycling while teaching young minds to think consciously about the environment.

A bit of festive music, dance competitions and games will be held during the Fifth Festival for Environment and Recycling of Green Dot Cyprus.

The fun starts early at 10am with some traditional Cypriot dancing. Moving swiftly on, the next event on the agenda will come at 10.30am when children can take part in yoga especially designed for them.

Much more is on the way at 11am with singing from the Latsia Municipality Children’s Choir, a narration of fairytales to live music at 11.30am then at lunch time more music from the Olympiako choir.

Next up there will be a bit of magic at 12.30pm and more music until 5pm when Dance Style Studios will put on a hip-hop show.

Probably the most exciting event of the day comes at 5.30pm when there will a parrot show – and their talent to imitate what we say surely won’t be the only talent they will be flashing about.

More music at 6pm from the Rumba Attack, a three-piece band that is known for its original instrumental material and also for playing selected covers in a very Spanish flamenco style.

The music will go on at 6.30pm with the Windcraft Band, bringing some brass and groovy sounds to the park.

The next half an hour will feature dance from the Rebel Dancers Academy and lastly the event will end with singing by Paris Christofi.

That is the entertainment part of the programme over with, but at 3pm there will be a talk on correct road behaviour for cyclists and at 4pm we can all get on our bikes and ride around the area.
