Raise your forks… and dig in

By Maria Gregoriou

If you have been to the Fork Food Market, which was at the Nicosia Municipal garden and is moving to Aglanzia on Friday, you might be wondering why the word fork is in the name as you really don’t need one to eat most of what is available.

As always there will be burgers – no forks needed there – hot dogs, tacos, and not forgetting something sweet, ice-cream.

This year the venders are putting all their energy into presenting food fans with a healthier version of street food.

For example the burger stand will be offering homemade sauces like onion marmalade and tomato jam with chilli and instead of offering straight from the packet chips, there are homemade ones.

Also, street food now comes with more vegetables grown locally by small producers who are growing their plants without the use of chemicals.

Other than that, the food market remains as packed as ever.
