Call for volunteer teachers to tutor needy students

The Pancyprian Volunteerism Coordinative Council (PVCC) is urging teachers and owners of private institutes to tutor needy students free of charge.

According to an announcement, the PVCC launched its new campaign calling on primary and higher education teachers to become volunteers and help students from poor families with their homework.

The volunteer organisation is also calling on managers of private institutes that offer afternoon classes, to give free one or more seats in class to students in need. The students will be referred to the institutes by the PVCC, the announcement said.

Parents with children in need of tutoring are also urged to contact the organisation’s offices and state their children’s specific needs.
