Searching for anyone who may have known my father

I am writing to you in the hope that your readers may have some information with regard to my father with whom I lost touch in the mid 1960s when we were living in Altrincham, just outside Manchester in the UK. His name was Robert John Illingworth and his date of birth was 5th January 1924.

I have recently discovered that he is buried in the British Cemetery in Limassol.  He was in the merchant navy and I note from a photograph of his grave that he was known as Captain Bob.  The grave shows his date of death as 26th September 1999 and his death certificate shows that he died in Kato Polemidia.  I understand that was twenty years ago but if anyone remembers him I would love to hear from them as I have so many unanswered questions.

I plan to visit Limassol in September to see if I can find out any more information but if anyone can help me before then I would be extremely grateful.  Please find my email address below.
Many thanks in anticipation
