Exactly one year after the first two confirmed cases of coronavirus were announced in Cyprus, President Nicos Anastasiades and the scientific advisory team for Covid-19 are scheduled to have a meeting to reassess the situation.

During the meeting, which is scheduled to take place at 10am on Tuesday at the presidential palace, the President will be informed about the latest development while further relaxations of restrictive measures from March 16 may also be discussed.

The scientists say they will gradually relax measures until the end of the month, when vaccination coverage is expected to reach 40 to 50 per cent.

The health ministry on Monday announced 352 new cases which were detected as a result of 40,891 tests.

The positivity rate overall is 0.86 per cent based on both PCR and rapid tests.
