beats

As part of Technopolis 20’s summer jazz series, the Beats’n’Pieces ensemble will perform at the Paphos venue on August 13. Their repertoire is songs that share a mutual love for music. From Gershwin to Chatzidakis, Dizzy Gillespie to Hermeto Pascoal, the project takes audiences on a journey through the rhythmic vibes of jazz, afro, bolero and Latin-Brazilian jazz with Greek, English, Spanish and Italian lyrics.

For the first time, the Beats’n’Pieces project comes to Technopolis 20 garden, a trio that consists of musicians with various backgrounds and a mutual interest in music from all over the world: Eleonora Roussou (vocals, flute), Alexis Kasinos (guitar) and Andreas Rodosthenous (base).

A few days before, another musician will take the Technopolis 20 garden stage. On Saturday, singer, songwriter and pianist Theodosis Christides will perform a concert starting at 8pm accompanied by his band. “Theodosis Christides,” say the organisers, “with his unique voice, has a vocal range of four and a half octaves, will bring a diverse and broad range of music to this concert. The extraordinary talent of his band, dovetail perfectly, fitting together easily to bring to the audience the very best of a young, up and coming group in impeccable harmony with Theodosis’ repertoire.”
