In today’s episode, two children in Cyprus have contracted hepatitis of unknown origin in recent months, the health ministry said on Thursday, adding that it will continue to monitor the situation amid an uptick of similar cases in Europe, the UK and the US. In other news, an 11-year-old boy was treated on Thursday after he underwent surgery following a firecracker injury which led to the amputation of three of his fingers, and twenty five migrants whose inflatable boat was intercepted off the Akamas peninsula on Thursday morning were later in the day transferred to the Kokkinotrimithia Reception Centre for asylum seekers, while police arrested one of the persons on board as the suspected trafficker.
