Huawei Cyprus is upholding its commitment to society by providing multi-level support to Cyprus’ younger generation, for a better future. Within this context, it has donated the IdeaHub All-in-One interactive platform to the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT).

Huawei’s innovative tool is in line with the latest emerging trends in modern education, digitalisation being the dominant feature. With such features as smart writing, high-definition video conferencing and wireless sharing, IdeaHub is designed to fit into any environment, transforming classrooms, meeting rooms and offices – indeed any location – into a smart, collaborative working space, quickly and easily.

As winner of the 2020 Red Dot Award, IdeaHub is, thus, a smart office that offers multiple usage opportunities to CUT’s students and academic staff, significantly upgrading the university’s modern education methods and procedures. In particular, equipped with 4K and H.265 technologies, IdeaHub offers a sharp and smooth video transmission experience, thus improving the distance-learning experience.

At the handover of the innovative tool to CUT, Huawei Cyprus General Manager Wu Hao emphasised his company’s long-standing commitment to support the academic community and younger generation.

“Young people are the safest investment for the future; they are the ones whose decisions and actions will determine the sustainable development of our country, and the planet at large, in the coming years,” he said.

“In a world that is constantly changing, we wish to leave our own footprint in the country by making a decisive contribution to the digitalisation of processes and services in important sectors, thus improving peoples’ quality of life.

“Within this context, we are constantly investing in education and promoting the development of advanced technology,” he added.

For his part, CUT Rector Professor Panayiotis Zaphiris expressed gratitude for Huawei’s continued support to the university.

“We would like to thank Huawei Cyprus, a close and valuable partner of our University, for their generous donation of the IdeaHub All-in-One interactive platform to our students and academic staff – an innovative technological and collaborative tool that gives a fresh impetus to the more effective implementation of digital education and e-governance at our University, and its successful transition to the new digital era,” noted Zaphiris.

“As a public university, we are grateful for our collaboration with Huawei Cyprus, who have recently provided a number of financial scholarships to our students,” he continued.

“We recognise the role that Huawei Cyprus plays in helping us create an innovation ecosystem and transform the results of our research activity into innovative products and services, aimed at the progress and development of our community and country.”
