Cyprus Symphony Orchestra’s season opening concert

premiere 1

The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra is preparing a new season of concerts, bringing to life some of the most respected classical music compositions and presenting talented musicians from Cyprus and abroad.

Three concert series start in September, featuring local music, Viennese melodies and waltz classics among others until December. Of course, the Christmas concerts are an end-of-year highlight anticipated by all.

In its season-opening concerts on September 14, 15 and 16, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra collaborates with Ukrainian pianist Igor Tchetuev, who has enjoyed a robust career performing with the most renowned symphony orchestras and conductors worldwide. According to music critics, Tchetuev possesses “a very strong interpretative personality” and his work “makes every piece’s vital force emerge”.

Under the direction of CySO’s new Artistic Director and Conductor Günter Neuhold, the renowned pianist will interpret Prokofiev’s piano concerto no. 3 and Beethoven’s Symphony no. 7. The first Premiere 1 Season Opening concert will take place at Larnaca’s Municipal Theater on September 14, followed by concerts at Pattihio Municipal Theatre, Limassol and Pallas Theatre, Nicosia on the following evenings.
