Municipal bill cost more than the tax

letters 1 grammata

I have just received an invoice from my local municipality for property tax.

This relates to three pieces of land that my wife has a 1/216 share in. The tax is for €0.10 for plot 1, €0.10 for plot 2, and the magnificent sum of €0.65 for the third plot!

So for €0.85 the municipality has printed an invoice, had it put into an envelope, and then posted it to me. I understand this is probably all done mechanically, but the cost of that exercise, and then following up the payment, probably through JCC (which again costs money), is going to produce a negative income.

It is quite common for sensible organisations to write off anything under a particular amount, ranging from €20 to €50!

Unfortunately, we don’t have sensible organisations!
