Giorkin Project in Nicosia and Limassol

giorkin project

More music nights are coming up including a newly-founded series of contemporary concerts on a mini Cyprus tour titled The Giorkin Project. The project was created in 2023 by Marilia Andreou and Phaedra Mylona, two young Cypriot instrumentalists, and a year after the project’s launch, it returns renewed for its second series with a new ensemble.

As Marilia and Phaedra are currently living in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, the newest project consists of three other instrumentalists – Enyalios Evangelou Papadopoulos, Sophia Price and Nikola Janjic. The three will share the stage on January 8 in Nicosia at ARTos House and on January 9 in Limassol at Polixoros Synergeio. Together they will present newly composed works by Veroniki Rezai, Evagoras Solias, Rafaelos Christofi, Michalis Kailis and Ioulios Georgakopoulos.

The project’s mission is to bring a fresh note to the classical music scene of Cyprus, by embracing and sharing the artistic work and vision of upcoming Cypriot composers of the new generation.
