The EMERGE project is organising a thought-provoking webinar to examine the immense contribution of think tanks to public discourse and their integral role in policy making. The online webinar will take place on Wednesday January 10, from 6pm to 7pm, in English.

The “Empowering Voices: Think Tanks as Catalysts in Democracy, Policy Influence, and Active Citizenship” webinar aims to offer a multi-faceted presentation of think tanks’ operation and their contribution to democracy.

Specifically, the speakers, Director of the Diplomatic Academy at the University of Nicosia, Dr Konstantinos Adamides and Lecturer in the Department of Turkish and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Cyprus, Dr Zenonas Tziarras, will explore how think tanks can contribute to policy formulation and further enhance civic participation. Through their practical experience and stimulating discussion, the webinar will dive into current opportunities and challenges faced by think tanks, as well as take a closer look at their current operation and actions in Cyprus.

The webinar is offered free of charge to all and only requires a short registration to access the webinar through Zoom on the day.

The EMERGE project is implemented by CARDET and Koumanto Stin Tsepi Sou in the framework of the Active Citizens Fund Cyprus project funded through the EEA and Norway 2014-2021 grants.

The project aims to promote active citizen participation and strengthen civil society organisations. To this end, the project implements a number of activities and events to deepen citizens’ knowledge and develop their capacity to transform their views and values into actions that contribute to the improvement of our society.
