The stingless jellyfish of Borneo’s Kakaban Lake

It might look like a scene from another planet, but Kakaban Lake is found on earth, on the Southeast Asian island of Borneo.

The lake’s isolated position and mix of salt- and freshwater make it the perfect habitat for all manner of unique creatures, including the golden jellyfish.

This video dives into the world of this fascinating lake-dweller, exploring how the jellies came to be trapped there in the first place and the remarkable farming technique they use to survive.
