More snow expected, coldest day so far (photos)

Temperatures are forecast to be the lowest so far this year on Thursday, reaching 16C inland, 18C in coastal areas and 6C in the higher mountains.

The first snow of the winter fell during the night around Troodos, and more is expected in the next two days.

On Thursday, it will be cloudy with the possibility of some rain and isolated thunderstorms.

At night, temperatures will drop to 7C inland, 11 to 14C near the coast and 1C in the mountains where frost will form.

On Friday the weather will be similar but by Saturday it will clear up.

Temperatures will remain at the same levels over the weekend, close to average for January.
