Go on a virtual tour of the Centre of Visual Arts and Research

virtual tour 2

The Centre of Visual Arts and Research (CVAR) is returning to normality with a series of events and initiatives. Within this framework and on the occasion of the International Museum Day, whose theme this year is The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine, it is currently hosting a virtual tour on the Museum and Museology.

Through the eyes of the Collector, children will have a chance to see what is hidden behind the scenes and the walls of an exhibition room, but also to learn how collections are assembled and preserved for future generations. During a stroll through the third floor of the CVAR they will collect important information on how a museum works, about all the everyday happenings, about the people who work there in various positions and generally about life in a museum. What is an auction, what are code numbers, what are display cabinets? How do we digitise collections, what is a humidifier and a humidity control, what kind of lighting should be used?

With all this information and much more, young visitors will acquire knowledge and valuable experiences which will help them appreciate the work done in a museum, and the museum itself. The virtual tour is offered in three languages, Greek, Turkish and English.

Take this virtual tour about museology by visiting cvar.severis.org/LifeInAMuseum_GR for the tour in Greek, cvar.severis.org/LifeInAMuseum_TR for the tour in Turkish and cvar.severis.org/LifeInAMuseum_EN in English.
