Coronavirus: Four people fined after 3,498 checks

ΛΕΜΕΣΟΣ – ΛΗΣΤΕΙΑ ΥΠΑΛΛΗΛΟΥ ΕΤΑΙΡΕΙΑΣ

Police fined four people, including a business owner, for failing to abide by Covid measures in the 24 hours leading up to 6am on Friday.

The fines came after 3,498 police checks across the island. Two people and one business were fined in Paphos after 500 checks, while Famagusta officers fined one individual after 679 checks.

Police also carried out 404 checks in Nicosia, 505 in Limassol, 706 in Larnaca, 294 in Morphou, while traffic police carried out 297 checks and the marine police 113 checks without reporting any violations.

Breaches in coronavirus protocols mainly concern failure to wear a face covering or violating the 1am curfew.
