Yellow weather warning issued for high temperatures

A yellow weather warning for high temperatures remains in place until 5pm on Sunday, the met office said.

The warning has been in place since Saturday night, and temperatures are set to rise to around 40C inland.

According to the warning, the minimum temperature on Saturday night was expected to have been 26C inland and 25C in beach areas in the north and west.

According to the Kitas Weather portal, high temperatures of around 40C in Nicosia are set to last until Saturday.
