Almost time for the 16th Lemesos International Documentary Festival

dsc05820

Following a prolonged period of cinemas and venues being closed, the Lemesos International Documentary Festival returns full of energy, for the 16th consecutive year. With some of the best and most awarded documentaries of the year from Cyprus and the world, the festival that defined the way we watch documentaries in Cyprus presents a ground-breaking line-up.

The 16th Lemesos International Documentary Festival will take place from August 1 to 8 at Ceronia Hall – Lanitis Carob Mill, in the old town of Limassol. The festival organisers promise to regenerate the iconic summer atmosphere that was warmly embraced by its audiences through the years.

Screening for the first time in Cyprus, the festival showcases top-notch documentaries by talented first-time directors and established auteurs who have won multiple awards at international festivals. Breath-taking stories from the cinema of real, unexpected characters, strange and intimate worlds will be at the centre of the programme of screenings. Like every year, the festival programme includes film screenings, live music, DJ sets, and Q&A sessions with hosted filmmakers.

Fewer cinema seats will be offered this year to achieve social distancing. Tickets will be available to buy online with more information on online sales announced shortly as we draw closer to a packed week full of esteemed documentaries.
