Coronavirus: Five businesses part of 51 fines for violating Covid rules

ΚΟΡΩΝΟΪΟΣ ΜΕΤΡΑ ΑΠΑΓΟΡΕΥΣΗ ΚΥΚΛΟΦΟΡΙΑΣ ΕΛΕΓΧΟΣ

Five business owners and 46 individuals were booked for violating coronavirus protocols in the last 24 hours, police said early on Tuesday.

The fines resulted from 3,740 checks nationwide between 6am on Monday and 6am on Tuesday.

The majority of checks, 1,155, were carried out in Famagusta where two businesses and eight people were fined.

A total of 997 checks were carried out in Nicosia, where eleven people were fined, while in just 259 checks in Limassol, officers booked 18 people and three business owners.

Two individuals were fined in Larnaca after 494 checks and seven in Paphos after 387 checks.

No violations were reported in Morphou after 175 checks.

Traffic and marine police also conducted 204 and 69 checks respectively without any bookings.
