Nicosia Water Board bills to go digital next year

As of September 1, 2022 the Nicosia Water Board will go paperless, sending utility bills electronically to consumers – although it will continue to accept in-person payments at its offices.

In a statement, the Nicosia Water Board said the move forms part of its transition to digitisation.

Come September 2022, consumers will be notified of their bills electronically only – either through email, or SMS – which they can settle with a single click – or through the WBN Mobile Application, available free of charge on the App Store and Play Store.

Alternatively, payments can also be made at the organisation’s website at www.wbn.org.cy.

Payments via direct debit, as well as in-person payments at the organisation’s cash desks, will likewise remain available.

Nicosia Water Board director Constantinos Parmaklis said that, in order for consumers to receive their bills via email, they’ll need to inform the organisation of their email address prior to September 1, 2022.

The organisation will send out letters by post, reminding people to do that before the cutoff date. Consumers will be able to update their information (provide their email address) using either a QR code, or directly on the organisation’s website.

Alternatively, they can fill out a form enclosed in the letter, and drop it off at a Nicosia Water Board box – where available – at their local municipality. They can also deliver the form to the organisation’s offices, or send it electronically by email to [email protected] or by fax to 22 698200.
