Missing man found dead

Police on Wednesday said a body found in a ravine in Yiolou in the Paphos district is believed to belong to missing Georgios Kyriakides, 59.

The body was spotted at around 10.15am in a ravine by a police helicopter. The scene was cordoned off for examinations.

Kyriakides was reported missing by his family around 8pm on Sunday after he did not return to his house in Ambelitis village that evening.

His body was discovered about 2km from his car which was found in the area of Drymou, Stroumpi and Yiolou two days prior.

Further examinations were expected to be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.

Taking part in the search for the missing man were members of the Paphos Crime Investigation Unit (CID), Civil Defence and National Guard officers, volunteers as well as a police helicopter and drones.
