Rainfall for November only 44% of usual levels

Only 44 per cent of the average rainfall for November has fallen so far this month, preliminary data published by the met office showed on Thursday.

Between November 1 and 25, rain reached 23.2 millimetres as opposed to the rate of 53.3 millimetres usually recorded in November.

The largest amount of rain, 36.7 millimetres, fell on Prodromos, still making up for only 44 per cent of normal November rainfall.

Next was Kellaki with 35.1 millimetres, equating to 60 per cent of normal rates, Panayia bridge with 35 millimetres (87 per cent) and Kornos with 34.4 millimetres (75 per cent).

The lowest percentages were recorded in New Limassol Port with just 0.4 millimetres (1 per cent of normal rates), Paphos airport with 3.1 millimetres (6 per cent), and Athalassa in Nicosia with 5.5 millimetres (18 per cent).
