Arrest in Emba after restaurant damaged

A 23-year-old has been arrested after an attack on a restaurant in Emba, Paphos late Friday that saw the premises and cars damaged.

According to police, the suspect was part of a group of eight or nine people who started to throw rocks at the premises for no apparent reason.

The rocks caused damage to the restaurant to the tune of approximately €100, while €1,000 worth of damage were caused to a vehicle.

The 23-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Saturday after a warrant had been issued following a complaint to police by two people who had been outside the restaurant at the time.

Paphos police are investigating a case of threat of conflict and joint attack.
