Man remanded for cannabis

A 36-year-old man was remanded for eight days on Saturday after 3.5 kilos of cannabis and almost €9,500 were found in his car.

The man was arrested around 8pm on Friday when police stopped his car for a check on the Nicosia to Limassol motorway near Moni, after receiving a tip off.

Drug squad officers found three plastic packages with about 3.5 kilos of dried cannabis, €9,485 in cash and three mobile phones.

The man is facing charges related to drug possession, possession with the intend to deal and money laundering.
