tv25saplings

Free saplings were given to locals in Nicosia by the Forestry Department on Sunday as part of Tree Week, which is set to run from today until December 3.

Speaking at an event at Agios Dometios’ second primary school, Agriculture Minister Costas Kades said that “together we must work for a greener Cyprus, for a more sustainable future”.

Kades stressed that, through the conservation of forests, great environmental and other benefits arise.

Similar events will take place in the other districts across the island within the next few days.
