Fire in Nicosia causes extensive damage to car

A fire that broke out in the area of Ayios Dometios in Nicosia on Thursday morning caused extensive damage to a car parked outside a home and firefighters had to intervene to put it out.

According to Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis, the incident took place at around 2am and the cause of the fire are still under investigations.

No injuries, however, have been reported.

In a post on Twitter, Kettis added that in the past 24 hours, the Fire Service responded to 25 calls, 11 of which for fires, 13 for special services and one false alarm.
