Canadian artist to perform at Savino Live

kais

In between the local bands and musicians that are set to perform at Larnaca’s most popular live music venue is also a Canadian artist. On May 18, KAIS will present his music at Savino Live accompanied by Stefanos Meletiou on drums and Max Daniels on bass.

Kais Khoury is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He takes the complexities of the human condition as inspiration for his fusionist sound that sonically melds the realms of neo-soul, mellow alternative blues rock and folk. His performances range from languid guitar licks, groovy trip-hoppy drums and blissful boyband-style vocals, to intrinsically melancholic sentiments that will viscerally resonate with anyone feeling adrift by the contemporary times, which all too often leave silver linings out of sight.

The musician utilises solemnly angular art-rock lead guitar lines to completely submerge audiences in the cold tones that exemplify his defeatism-traversing songs, to more dynamic, choppy funk, which echoes The Bends era in Radiohead via Red Hot Chili Peppers’ more melodic syncopations. KAIS moves from the dreary and dark and transitions into the bright and hopeful. From the lush, laid-back, bluesy laments and heart-breaking swoon-some melodies, to culminations of ardently raw acoustic, electric guitar strings rhythmically hammering zealous emotion into infinity.

Before he takes the Savino stage at 10.45pm, a local ensemble will entertain music lovers and create the mood for the evening. Della will take the floor at 9.45pm for a funky warm-up set before the Canadian artist.
