Hadjiyiannis appointed general manager of Cooperative Central Bank

Chairman of the Co-operative Central Bank Nicolas Hadjiyiannis

By Stelios Orphanides

The committee of the Cooperative Central Bank selected its chairman Nicholas Hadjiyiannis as the bank’s general director in succession to Marios Clerides who resigned on June 22.

“The appointment of the new general manager of the Cooperative Central Bank is subject to approval by the supervisory authorities in charge,” the lender said in an emailed statement today.

The committee, which is the equivalent of a board of directors, had evaluated a list of potential candidates presented by Egon Zehnder, a Berlin-based advisory firm, and “took seriously into account in its final decision the recommendation of the Co-operative Central Holding Company,” the bank said.
