Strict security for Netanyahu visit

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Increased security measures will be put in place during Thursday’s visit to Cyprus by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, police announced.

Roads will be closed at various intervals both in the Larnaca and Nicosia districts.

Police ask the public to follow the instructions of the police officers on duty and to be patient.

Netanyahu will be in Cyprus to take part in the first tripartite meeting between the heads of state and government of Cyprus, Greece and Israel, which will take place in Nicosia on Thursday.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is due to arrive later on Wednesday for the summit.

The main issues on the agenda will be energy, economy and tourism.
The three leaders will adopt the Declaration of Nicosia which will outline the way cooperation will advance until the next tripartite meeting which will take place within six months.
