Due to heavy snowfall in the Troodos area, the roads from Platres to Troodos, Karvounas to Troodos and Prodromos to Troodos are open only to four-wheel drive vehicles and those equipped with snow chains.

Drivers are urged to be extra careful, drive at low speeds and maintain safe distances from vehicles in front of them.

Temperatures will rise to around 15C inland and in coastal areas and 6C in the higher mountains on Thursday, four degrees lower than is usual for this time of the year.

The weather will remain mostly clear during the day. In the evening, temperatures are forecast to fall to 4C inland, 7C near the sea and -1C in Troodos, where frost is expected.
