Another two arrests in drug squad operation

Police on Thursday announced the arrest of another two more people after a drug squad operation in Nicosia during which they found two kilos of cocaine and made two initial arrests.

Following an operation by the drug squad late afternoon on Wednesday, officers stopped the car of a 33-year-old man for a check. During a search of his vehicle, police found a joint and a plastic bag containing about 100 grams of cocaine, police said in a written statement.

Later, and as part of investigations into the case, police carried out a search in the house of a 46-year-old man. Officers seized about two kilos and 215 grams of cocaine, as well as several tobacco products and cash.

A 38-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man who were at the house were also arrested.
