Coronavirus: Two businesses, 20 individuals booked for breaking decrees

Two establishments, one in Limassol and one in Paphos, were fined a total of €1,500 for violating coronavirus protocols, after 3,304 nationwide police checks.

The Limassol-based business was booked for €1,000 after officers found an employee without a SafePass and not wearing a mask.

Police also fined a Paphos establishment €500 after spotting the manager working without a SafePass and a facemask. The business also failed to display all the necessary coronavirus signage.

Twenty individuals were also booked during the checks.

Two people were fined in Nicosia after 1,286 checks, seven in Limassol after 277 checks and one in Larnaca following 591 inspections.

Paphos officers booked three people after 129 checks while six more were booked in Famagusta after 516 checks.

In Morphou, no violations were reported after 262 checks.

Traffic, port and marine police also conducted 179 and 64 checks respectively without any bookings.
