Roads to Troodos only open to four wheel drives, those with chains (video)

Road users were on Monday again urged to drive with caution if they were heading up the mountains where many roads were closed to cars without four wheel drive or snow chains.

Police also urged drivers to check if roads were open before heading out.

The height of the snow on Monday morning was between 45 and 65 cm at the Jubilee hotel and between 70 and 103 at the top of Mount Olympos.

Roads only open to well equipped vehicles are: Kakopetria-Karvounas, Kakopetria-Pinewood-Pedoulas, Kakopetria-Spilia-Kannavia, Pedoulas-Prodromos-Platres, Pedoulas-Kykkos-Kambos, Kalopanayiotis-Kykkos-Kambos, Platres-Troodos, Karvounas-Troodos, Prodromos-Troodos.
