Limassol police on Thursday said that they had arrested a 59-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman in connection with a case of theft of fuel from vehicles.

Arrest warrants were issued against the two, after an investigation of two cases of fuel theft by the Kalo Chorio Police Station.

The two cases concern the theft of 200 litres of petrol, from two vehicles belonging to a contracting company. The thefts were committed on two different dates, last December and last January, while the two vehicles were parked in an open area in the Limassol district.

The two suspects were detained as part of the ongoing investigations by the Kalo Chorio Police.

In a separate case, police also arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the theft of items from a construction site, worth €7,837, in September 2021, as well as with the theft of tools worth € 4,500, last March.

In another development, a 27-year-old man was arrested and during questioning allegedly admitted to breaking into a tutoring centre in Kato Polemidia. Nothing was stolen.

The burglary was reported by the owner of the centre, according to whom, the alarm system sounded shortly after 3.30 Wednesday morning. At the scene, the police found, among other things, a mobile phone, which allegedly belonged to the 27-year-old suspect.
