Man beaten up by wife’s brothers

Police in Limassol are looking for a suspect in the abduction and physical assault of a 22-year-old man.

The victim reported the incident on Monday, telling police he had been beaten by his wife’s brothers.

According to the police, the 22-year-old stated in his complaint that while walking the Germasogeia coastal path on May 7, his wife’s brothers forcibly took him to a vehicle and subsequently to a hotel room in the area, where they assaulted and threatened him, demanding he divorce their sister.

The perpetrators then left the scene and the victim sought medical care at the Limassol general hospital, where he was given first aid and released.

Police obtained an arrest warrant against a 23-year-old suspect.

As for the second perpetrator allegedly involved in the case, police are conducting investigations to determine his details and whereabouts.
