Motorcyclist 21 killed on old Nicosia-Limassol road

A 21-year-old man died on Thursday after his motorcycle collided with a car on the old Nicosia to Limassol road.

According to the police, the accident occurred in the Dali industrial area around 2.30pm. The deceased has since been identified as Andreas Christodoulou, of Pera Khorio Nisou.

The collision between Christodoulou’s motorcycle, and an oncoming car driven by a 20-year-old, was severe.

Both men were rushed by ambulance to Nicosia general hospital. Christodoulou was pronounced dead on arrival. The other man suffered light injuries.

Authorities are asking the public to come forth with any information on the specifics of the accident, by contacting Nicosia traffic police at 22802023, the citizens’ hotline at 1460, or their nearest police station.
