Coronavirus: Police issue 24 fines for decree violations

Police reported 24 individuals, including three managers of businesses, for violating measures against the spread of the coronavirus.

A police spokesman said the force had carried out 2,822 checks across the Republic over the past 24 hours, most in the district of Nicosia – 1,093 – where two people were reported.

In Limassol, officers reported seven individuals and the manager of a business during 246 checks.

Larnaca police conducted 565 checks and reported four people while officers in Paphos booked three people and the managers of two establishments during 205 checks.

Six people were booked in Famagusta during 383 checks, and two in the Morphou area after 170 checks.

Traffic and marine police officers did not report anyone in 160 checks.
