Pope sends letter of thanks to Anastasiades

President Nicos Anastasiades on Wednesday received a letter of thanks from Pope Francis, who expressed his gratitude for the welcome he received in Cyprus during December 2 to 4.

In his letter, the Pontiff thanked Anastasiades and his family for the warm welcome, adding that “he met a wise man [Anastasiades] during the trip” and wishing him success in his political career.

Finally, he wished “peace, cooperation and prosperity to all the people of Cyprus”.
