A 12-year-old boy was hospitalised at the Nicosia general hospital on Friday after the bicycle he was riding on collided with a car in Aradippou, Larnaca.

The accident took place around 6.30pm on Thursday, when the boy who was cycling on the sidewalk on Rizokarpaso street appears to have entered the road. Then, under conditions that are being investigated, he collided with a car driven by a 33-year-old man.

The injured minor was rushed to Larnaca general hospital where he was diagnosed with a head injury. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was then transferred to the Nicosia general hospital where he remains hospitalised in the paediatric ward.

Doctors have said the boy has a head haematoma, but his condition is not life threatening.
