Arrest after armed robbery injures two in Paphos

A 26-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday as one of the suspects in an armed robbery at a Paphos building complex during which two men were injured.

The assault took place around 9.45pm on Monday when, according to eye witnesses, eight people holding pistols, swords and pieces of wood, allegedly entered a house in a building complex. They attacked two men, aged 20 and 24 and injured them using a knife, police said.

The perpetrators also stole two mobile phones and €500 from the two victims.

According to police, the injured men were transferred to Paphos general hospital, where they received first aid and were later discharged.

During investigations, evidence emerged against the 26-year-old and he was arrested.
