My husband and I have lived in Paphos for 13 years and have seen many changes, some for the good, some for the worse. We both personally think that the European Capital Culture is for the worse. Did you not think about all those poor people out there in the old town or surrounding areas trying to make a living and are shutting up shop or about to close their shop’s because people will not walk round those dangerous streets.
Some of these shop keepers have invested all their life savings. What about the disabled people and people with pushchairs, how can they get around that area? Have you not gone around Kanari Street and spoken to the owners?
We know it would not change the situation for all those people but at least you can put your hand on your heart and say you spoke to them. We do not know the owner of Boo-tea-licious tea rooms but are good friends with her daughter Simone and says her mother is so stressed and nearly at breaking point. So much for moving to Paphos. All this waste of money, look after your people first, speak to them.
