Chicken meals recalled on salmonella fears

STATE Health services have recalled two frozen chicken products with salmonella.

The health ministry announced that during lab tests on random samples, frozen chicken burgers produced by two local companies, Loukas Aristodemou Farm and Sons Ltd and Tasoulla’s Home Made Foods, were found to contain salmonella.

The batch of chicken burgers produced by Loukas Aristodemou Farm has the barcode 2814646008003 and expires May 27, 2016.

The barcode package of the chicken burgers produced by Tasoulla’s Home Made Foods is 5291468000113 and expires on December 30, 2015.

Consumers are urged to return the items to the shop where they bought them from and avoid consumption, while it said it notified the two producers and gave instructions for their immediate recall.

Investigations on the incidents continue in cooperation with the two companies’ managers and the state vet services, the health ministry said.
