Harmonised price index falls 1.1% in January

The harmonised consumer price index fell 1.1 in January compared to the respective month of 2015 after falling 0.6 per cent in December, the statistical service said.

The drop was mainly on reduced prices for housing, water, electricity and gas as well as transport, which fell 9.9 per cent and 3.1 per cent respectively, Cystat said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.

In January 2015, the harmonised consumer price index fell 0.7 per cent.
